Aston Villa and Chelsea played out a goalless draw in the first meeting between the teams in the fourth round of the FA Cup, meaning that they must do it all over again in the West Midlands on Wednesday. Villa should feel confident coming into this match after keeping clean sheets in each of their last three matches against the Blues across all competitions.

However, the Villa have suffered defeats in their last five matches at home in the FA Cup. Chelsea also have a fine record in FA Cup replays after progressing from eight of their last nine. Their only defeat over that period came against Everton in the fourth round in 2010-11. But, a response will be required after a disappointing 4-2 loss against Wolves in their latest fixture.

The Blues were easily beaten 4-0 by City in their last away match in the FA Cup in the third round last season. However, they haven’t lost consecutive away matches in the competition since falling to losses against Arsenal and Newcastle in February 2004 and 2005, respectively.
