The Herons played a dull and goalless event against their top rivals in the battle for the East’s top, FC Cincinnati. It was the game of the round, but it didn’t quite live up to expectations.
Additionally, this marked the first match involving Inter Miami after eight consecutive where the fans hadn’t seen at least 3 goals. Also, it was the third during that stretch where just one side netted. So the team will aim to bounce back pretty quickly and open the Leagues Cup with a victory.
Atlas’s defense is, let’s say, fragile. That’s the nicest way of saying they are in big-time problems. The Mexicans allowed 8 goals in their past three Liga MX Apertura matches, and the only thing that stood between them and a poor start to the championship was a potent offense.
