Newcastle come into this fixture in a testing period, as they have lost each of their previous three. There have been murmurs that the tide is turning against Eddie Howe, as fans are growing restless about the performances put in by the Toon, as well as the results.

The Magpies were outfought before the international break, as they suffered a 3-1 loss against Brighton. It is the first time since April 2022 that Newcastle have lost three straight matches. However, they have picked up just a single victory to show from their performances to this point. Brentford’s last away win against Newcastle came back in September 1934, and they are winless in their last five visits.
