Match Preview

France will be the heavy favorites to book the final spot in the quarterfinal stage on Tuesday. The European nation needed to recover following a slow start against Jamaica, but they were excellent in back-to-back matches against Brazil and Panama. Their final match was the highest-scoring fixture at the competition this summer, as they eventually came out on top with a 6-3 win.

France has been consistent at this stage of the competition in recent editions, as they have reached the quarterfinals in each of the previous two competitions. However, they have only progressed further than the last eight on one occasion, as they finished fourth at the 2011 tournament in Germany. Hopes will be high that they can at least match that showing this year.

Morocco is the huge outsider in this match-up, but they have been excellent throughout the tournament, despite being written off. The African nation looked out of the competition after suffering a 6-0 loss on matchday one, but they recovered in fine fashion to land back-to-back wins against South Korea and Colombia.

Their matchday three result saw them progress instead of Germany, as the European nation and two-time world champions were held to a 1-1 draw by South Korea. Morocco has defended well since their opening loss, but this is a much bigger test than they have faced in their previous two matches.

France vs Morocco Prediction

Morocco has defended excellently in their last two matches, and their newfound belief will be put to the test against France. However, we struggle to overlook the European nation, and we expect them to cover the spread in this round of 16 clash.
