Alexandra Eala vs. Iga Swiatek Wimbledon Preview
The third-round at Wimbledon is set for this weekend, and the reigning champion will be in action on one of the main courts. Iga Swiatek will be bidding for back-to-back championships at the All England Club, but she could face an interesting challenge in the form of Alexandra Eala on July 4.

Alexandra Eala Form & Wimbledon Stats
There have been few more progressive stars on the WTA Tour so far this season than Alexandra Eala. The 21-year-old Filipino is a two-time winner on the Tour, and she currently sits in a career-high ranking of 32nd.
Eala made history in 2022 by becoming the first Filipino to win a major junior title, and her progress has continued in 2026, reaching the first rounds at both the Australian Open and French Open.
However, her game is probably best suited to grass, as evidenced by her impressive wins in the opening two rounds. The 29th seed showed her ability in a three-set win over Maya Joint in the previous round, winning an impressive 72% of the points on second serve.
Iga Swiatek Form & Wimbledon Stats
Reigning champions always have the weight of expectation on their shoulders at Wimbledon. However, Iga Swiatek is a star that looks ready to handle that burden.
The 25-year-old is already a six-time Grand Slam winner, with her maiden Wimbledon success coming 12 months ago against Amanda Anisimova. This year hasn’t exactly gone to plan to this point, failing to reach the semi-finals in either of the opening two Grand Slam events.
However, the Pole looked back to her very best in her last appearance, dropping just four games in a dominant straight sets win over the experienced Karolina Pliskova. Swiatek showed her efficiency in the win, converting six of her eight break point opportunities.
Head-to-Head Stats
This is the third meeting between Eala and Swiatek, with both players winning on one occasion. The latest clash saw Eala win in three sets at the Madrid Open in April 2025.
Alexandra Eala vs. Iga Swiatek Picks
Eala’s progression should be respected, but Swiatek looks to be growing into the Slam based on her dominant win in the second round. Therefore, we foresee the reigning Wimbledon champion to win in three sets on Saturday.
