Rams vs. Commanders Week 9 Picks: Washington Defending the Spread vs. Injured Rams

Pick rationale
Analysis & key factors
LA Rams (4-4) reached .500 at last, but they’ll have to push even harder to earn a playoff spot. Before the season started, NFL odds suggested the Rams might win the Super Bowl, yet now they are far away from that status. On the other hand, the Commanders (2-41) struggle to stay consistent, but still have a chance to win the NFC East and enter the postseason.
You can find all the NFL picks right here, and here is why we have the hosts against the spread in this case.

Game Preview
LA Rams
The Rams are without WR Davante Adams, and two cornerbacks picked up injuries in their 23-7 win over the Chargers last weekend. Both Jaylen Watson and Trent McDuffie are now closely monitored ahead of Week 9.
Matt Stafford holds No.2 in the league in passing yards, 2,146, but the Rams’ offense still needs adjustments, especially following Adams’ injury. Things are messy for the LA team after a series of injuries that have pretty much crippled the team.
Washington Commanders
Commanders were better than the shorthanded Eagles in Philly, winning 27-10. Jayden Daniels looked solid, with 217 passing and 23 rushing yards for one touchdown. But he wasn’t the one who needs to be credited for this triumph; the run game was.
Washington had 135 yards on the ground, and overall, they are the 9th-best rushing team in the NFL. If they repeat that against the Rams, Daniels would have much more space to show his skills. He just needs his running backs to overload the LARs’ scrimmage line.
Rams vs. Commanders Predictions
The Rams have a lot of important players with major or minor injuries. They oscillate a lot, and we wouldn’t bet on their win in this case. Furthermore, the way the Commanders played their last game was reassuring, and keeping in mind that the Rams’ defense has multiple injury problems, we take the Commanders to defend the spread.
