Man City played a mostly full-strength side against Burnley in their FA Cup Quarter Final. The same is expected here against Sheffield United. Stefan Ortega is likely to feature in goal again as Pep Guardiola sticks with his policy of giving a few starts to squad players. Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez are expected to return to the starting lineup as Man City seeks to secure a spot in the final.

Sheffield United reached the Semi-Finals thanks to a last-minute winner from Tommy Doyle as they overcame Blackburn 3-2. Ollie McBurnie will lead the line once again for the Blades, with club legend Billy Sharp featuring mainly from the bench this season. Sheffield United’s back three has worked well for them in the Championship but will be a risky tactic against Man City. It is expected that their wing-backs will be asked to be less adventurous in order to contain the Citizen’s attacking threats.

Prediction

Given the way Man City dispatched Burnley with ease, it is unlikely they will be posed with too many problems by Sheffield United. I certainly expect Man City to dominate this one from the first whistle to the last.
