Pick rationale

Analysis & key factors

  • The Falcons lost 31-28 vs the Vikings in week 9.
  • The Cardinals were thrashed 0-27 by the Browns on Sunday.
  • These teams last met in January 2023, with the Falcons winning 19-20.

The 4-5 Atlanta Falcons will play against the 1-8 Arizona Cardinals in Week 10. The Falcons’ coach Arthur Smith has been criticized for some strange decisions, but this game is a chance for them to redeem themselves against one of the weakest teams in the NFL.

Game Preview

In week 9, the Falcons lost 31-28 to the Vikings, and many fans criticized coach Arthur Smith’s decision-making. Fans were particularly upset with the lack of involvement of rookie running back Bijan Robinson, who only received 11 carries during the game, one fewer than his backup Tyler Allgeier. It was odd that the team did not rely more on Robinson, especially considering WR Drake London was absent from the game. However, London has been practicing in full this week and is expected to play against the Cardinals.

The Arizona Cardinals suffered a crushing 0-27 defeat against Cleveland on Sunday. However, the team’s fans can look forward to a brighter future as quarterback Kyler Murray is set to make his first start of the season after recovering from a knee injury that cut short his 2022 campaign. Running back James Conner is also expected to start his first game since week 5, although he is listed as questionable. With these two elite players back on the field, the Cardinals have the potential to win some games and end the season on a high note.

Prediction

It’s a perfect opportunity for Kyler Murray’s return to the field, as he faces a weak Falcons team. If James Conner also plays, then the chances of a Cardinals win increase. Assuming that he is suiting up, I am backing Arizona to win the game.
