Match Preview
A first look at the new format of the Champions League will be offered this week, and one of the standout matches in the competition on matchday one will see Man City and Inter Milan collide at the Etihad. These sides have only clashed on one previous occasion, with City securing Champions League success following a 1-0 win in the 2023 final.
However, Inter have landed victories at four different stadiums in England, and they could become just the fourth team to achieve five victories at different Premier League sides following Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich. But, they will likely be massive outsiders in the betting this week.

Man City’s record in the competition has been very dominant in recent seasons, having avoided defeat in their last 23 matches. They could match the record held by Man United between September 2007 and May 2009 if they avoid defeat in their opening two matches of the competition this season. Their chances are certainly boosted based on the fact that Pep Guardiola has won 63.7% of his matches in the Champions League.
However, Inter have also impressed in Europe across the last two seasons after losing just three of their last 20 matches in the Champions League. But, it could be worth mentioning that they have opened their campaign in the UCL with a victory in just one of their last nine campaigns.
