Mikel Arteta has cut a frustrated figure in recent weeks, as Arsenal’s wait for a major piece of silverware looks set to continue. The Gunners sit six points off the pace in the Premier League standings, while they gave themselves a mountain to climb after losing their first leg against Newcastle in the EFL Cup last week. To make matters worse, Arsenal were dumped out of the FA Cup by Man United on Sunday.
Tottenham managed to secure their spot in the fourth round of the competition, and they could now have a better opportunity to end the season with some silverware than Arsenal. Spurs will need to bounce back to form in the league though, having gone four without a win in the Premier League, and losing three matches over that period.

Wins away from home against Arsenal have been a rarity for Tottenham throughout history. Their only win in 31 league away matches against the Gunners was recorded in November 2010. The Gunners have won 18 of the last 31 at their home stadium.
In fact, Tottenham have a poor defensive record against the Gunners, as they have conceded at least once in each of the 25 previous matches since a 0-0 draw in 1998-99. However, Arsenal are chasing a first league double over Spurs since 2013-14.
Arsenal’s home advantage could be telling this week, as they are the only remaining team in the Premier League that are yet to lose in front of their own fans this season.
