Arsenal’s job in the first half of the Champions League campaign has already been completed, as their place in the next round of the competition has been assured. The Gunners have won five of their seven matches in the opening round, and they come into matchday eight after winning each of their last three.
Girona’s Champions League season is already over. The newcomers have failed to secure a playoff spot, and they have suffered defeats in each of their last four matches. The Spanish side have recorded just a single win from their seven matches in the competition this season.

This will be the first meeting between Arsenal and Girona. The Spanish side will only be coming up against an English club for the second time after losing 1-0 against Liverpool on MD6.
