Chicago Blackhawks vs. Vegas Golden Knights NHL Betting Preview
Blackhawks Set Sights on Improved Campaign
Jeff Blashill will oversee the Chicago Blackhawks this season, as an improved campaign is expected. The Hawks will face immediate issues from opening night, as they will begin the campaign without influential center Connor Bedard.
His absence is likely to be damaging to Chicago’s offensive output, as Bedard has been the franchise’s top scorer in each of the last three seasons. The depth in that area will be tested between now and November, with Anton Frondell and Frank Nazar expected to carry the load. Scoring was a consistent issue for the Hawks throughout last season, averaging just 2.65 per game, which ranked 30th in the NHL.
Patrick Kane’s arrival should enhance their attacking metrics. Spencer Knight will also be important in the Chicago goal, but he performed to a decent level last term, averaging a .902 save percentage in 55 games.
Golden Knights Once Again Set Sights on Stanley Cup Glory
As has been the case for much of the last few seasons, the goal of the campaign for the Vegas Golden Knights is a simple one: win the Stanley Cup.
John Tortorella will start his first full season with the franchise without last season’s top scorer, as Pavel Dorofeyev departed during the off-season. However, Victor Olofsson will be expected to step up after scoring 12 goals and registering 17 assists in 80 games last term. His ability will almost certainly be a key factor in power-plays, while Parker Wotherspoon will add some much needed strength in defensive areas.
Losing key veterans this season will ensure that the Golden Knights come into the new campaign with questions to answer, but their consistency in reaching the playoffs ensures that Vegas will be incredibly hard to rule out.
Head-to-Head Betting Insights
- Vegas have won 72.4% of their overall clashes against the Blackhawks.
- The Golden Knights have won 81.2% of their games against the Hawks at T-Mobile Arena.
- Chicago have lost four of the previous five head-to-heads between the sides.
Chicago Blackhawks vs. Vegas Golden Knights NHL Betting Picks
This is a daunting prospect for the Blackhawks on opening night in the NHL, and it will be incredibly challenging to overlook the Golden Knights despite the departures of key veterans. We fully expect the hosts to make their dominance count, and the spread could offer the best value when making Blackhawks vs. Golden Knights betting picks.
