New York Rangers vs. Boston Bruins NHL Betting Preview

Pressure Mounting on Sullivan Following Disappointing Campaign

Last season saw the New York Rangers enter the campaign with hope of a deep charge in the playoffs. However, it could be argued that last term was nothing short of a disaster for the Rangers. They eventually finished bottom of the Metropolitan Division.

Home form was a major concern throughout the campaign, highlighted by the fact that they went four games at Madison Square Garden without scoring at the beginning of the season. Plans for this coming season were set in motion after Artemi Panarin was shifted to the LA Kings, with Vincent Trocheck also moved out to the Utah Mammoth.

Sean Durzi’s return should improve the Rangers’ defense, while Pavel Dorofeyev has been acquired from the Vegas Golden Knights to improve the attacking output. More will be expected in Sullivan’s second year in charge, but their chances will likely revolve around the long-term fitness of Adam Fox and Igor Shesterkin.

Bruins Aiming to Build on Playoff Return

The Boston Bruins upset the odds last season to reach the Stanley Cup playoffs, and plenty of confidence will be gained from the fact that they hit 100 points during the regular season.

Ultimately, their journey in the postseason was ended abruptly in the opening round by the Buffalo Sabres, but further progression in 2026-27 can’t be ruled out. The Bruins made waves during the off-season following the capture of JJ Peterka, who registered 25 goals and 22 assists in 82 regulation appearances last season.

Further strength in depth has been added with the arrivals of Will Borgen and Connor Clifton. Meanwhile, the young core of players, including James Hagens, ensures that their potential outlook looks bright for the forthcoming season.

Head-to-Head Betting Insights

  • Boston have won 53% of their games against the Rangers at TD Garden.
  • The Bruins have won three of their last five head-to-heads against the Rangers.
  • The Rangers were beaten 10-2 on their latest trip to TD Garden.

New York Rangers vs. Boston Bruins NHL Betting Picks

There is so much uncertainty surrounding the New York Rangers this season, while the Boston Bruins will be aiming to build on the progress shown last term. Boston’s healthy home record against the Rangers is notable, and an exciting campaign in prospect could kick off with a dominant opening night win at TD Garden.
