Event Preview
The end of an enforced break on the Formula 1 schedule comes this weekend, as the Miami Grand Prix is staged five weeks after the third round in Japan. Drivers will complete a total distance of 308.236 km, with the race distance being covered by 57 laps.
Mercedes have been the dominant force in the opening three rounds of the season, with Kimi Antonelli winning each of the last two races. The Italian could extend his advantage at the top of the Drivers’ Championship with victory in the U.S. this weekend.
The break could have come at a perfect time for McLaren, with the reigning Constructors’ champions looking back to near their best in Japan in the previous round. Oscar Piastri bounced back to form after two disappointing DNFs by taking P2.
Ferrari should also be competitive at a track that suits their car this weekend. Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton have each achieved podiums in the last two rounds, but the team are yet to show their pace in the second half of races over the Grand Prix distance.
The break could have also come at a good time for Red Bull following a disappointing start to the season. Extra time to understand the car could give Max Verstappen a decent chance to extend his record number of victories in Miami.
Miami Grand Prix Picks
The Miami circuit is perfect for McLaren, with the Constructor winning the last two editions of the Miami Grand Prix. Therefore, Lando Norris could hold interesting claims in his chase to win a race for the first time in 2026 this weekend.
