Event Preview

The pressure will likely be eased on the drivers involved on the NASCAR Cup Series this weekend, as a non-points scoring event is staged in the form of the NASCAR All-Star Race. For the first time, this weekend’s race will be staged at Dovor Motor Speedway.

Shane Van Gisbergen will be the most confident driver on the grid this weekend after continuing his dominant record on road tracks by landing the Go Bowling at The Glen. However, he is yet to replicate that level of form on an oval circuit.

Tyler Reddick’s advantage at the top of the Drivers’ Championship remains extremely healthy after finishing in the top five on his last two starts. A sixth win in 2026 is hard to completely dismiss.

Denny Hamlin should also be extremely competitive. Hamlin is a previous winner on the Cup Series schedule in 2026, and he has finished in the top ten in four of the previous six rounds.

There is likely to be pressure on Kyle Larson, as the reigning champion has finished outside the top 20 on his last three appearances. Ty Gibbs bounced back to form with a third in last weekend’s Go Bowling at the Glen, while Chase Elliott shouldn’t be overlooked after winning twice this season.

NASCAR All-Star Race Picks

Christopher Bell is a previous winner of the All-Star Race, and his winning form at the Dover Motor Speedway should be respected this weekend. Bell’s form has dipped slightly in recent weeks, but he has achieved a top ten finish in four races this term.
