A massive night in the Champions League is set for Man City on Wednesday, as the reigning Premier League champions must claim victory on matchday eight if they are to reach the playoff round. A draw will see City finish the league phase in 25th place, while a defeat could see them end the round even lower.
Club Brugge will also be coming into this fixture with a great need to avoid defeat. The team from Belgium currently sits 20th in the standings, and they will reach the playoff round, providing that they don’t lose at the Etihad. Interestingly, Brugge come into this final matchday in excellent form after avoiding defeat in their last four matches.

Man City hold a healthy advantage based on previous clashes against Brugge after winning each of the previous two meetings in the 2021-22 season. That includes a 4-1 win in the previous meeting between the sides at the Etihad.
