Game Preview

Leicester City’s long stay in the Premier League looks under increasing danger this term, as they come into the final nine games of the season in the bottom three places. No side has lost more games in the English top-flight than the Foxes this term, with five of their 18 losses this term coming in their previous six.

The most recent of those was suffered at the King Power against Aston Villa on Tuesday. That defeat means that they have now suffered eight losses from 14 home matches this term. Meanwhile, Leicester comes into this match after losing each of their previous three against promoted sides.

Bournemouth slipped back into the bottom three in midweek, as they were beaten 2-0 at the Vitality Stadium by Brighton. That was their second defeat in three matches, but they have still recorded two victories from their last four. Their away record would be a huge concern this weekend, as they have lost ten of their four matches this season.

However, Bournemouth claimed victory in the reverse fixture this term, and will be looking for a first league double over the Foxes since 1988-89. But, the Cherries have never won a Premier League match at the King Power in five previous attempts.

Prediction

At odds-on, I would be very keen to take on Leicester this weekend. The home side’s record against newly promoted sides is an intriguing angle, and Bournemouth’s performances across their previous four have been slightly better than their results would suggest. Therefore, we will side with a win for the Cherries, with Phillip Billing netting the winner.
