Match Preview

It is challenging to comprehend that Aryna Sabalenka is yet to win a Grand Slam this calendar year, as the Belarusian has been consistently playing at a high level. Not only that, but the world number one is yet to reach a Wimbledon final, falling at the semi-final stage in each of her last two appearances.

But, Sabalenka could be set to change that narrative in 2025. The 27-year-old has been at her dominant best throughout the competition at the All England Club, dropping just one set on her way to the final four. However, she showed her powers of recovery in the previous round after battling back from a set down to overcome Laura Siegemund.

We really liked the chances of Amanda Anisimova before the start of the competition, as the 23-year-old looked back to near the level that saw her reach the latter stages of Grand Slams in 2019. After taking time off, she has gotten back to the top of the WTA Tour in recent years, and grass is a surface that suits her playing style.

The American has cruised through the competition to this point, dropping just one set. She showed her mental strength in the previous round to eliminate Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets, winning the deciding game in a tie break.

Head-to-Head Record

Anisimova holds a 5-3 advantage over Sabalenka in previous clashes between the stars. However, the Belarusian did overcome the American at the French Open earlier in 2025.

Aryna Sabalenka vs. Amanda Anisimova Picks

Sabalenka will be a tough opponent to beat on Centre Court at Wimbledon this year, but we have had the belief that Anisimova could win Wimbledon before the start of the competition. Therefore, we will be keeping faith in the American to overcome the world number one.
