Event Preview
The third Grand Slam of the season is largely seen as the most prestigious, as Wimbledon is the oldest tennis event played on the WTA Tour. It has been played since 1884, and this year’s event promises to be another wide-open contest in the women’s half of the draw. Elena Rybakina upset the odds 12 months ago after landing a dramatic first Grand Slam at SW-19, but the Kazakhstani player is unlikely to be missed in the betting market this year.
In fact, Rybakina will come into the event as the second choice in the betting, behind Iga Swiatek. The Polish world number one landed a third Grand Slam title at the French Open in early June, but she is yet to make a mark at Wimbledon. The 22-year-old crashed out in the third-round last year, and boasts a low win rate of 63% at the Grand Slam.

Aryna Sabalenka will make headlines at Wimbledon this year after being banned from competing last year. The world number two reached the semi-finals on her only appearance at the Grand Slam in the past three years, and her game looks perfectly tailored to the grass-court season.
Karolina Muchova upset the odds to reach a first Grand Slam final at Roland Garros, but we struggle to see her making it that far at SW-19. Beatriz Haddad Maia has a game that we like for the grass court, and she exceeded expectations to reach the final stages in Paris on her previous appearance.
Women’s Wimbledon Prediction
Haddad Maia is an interesting player to reach the final stages, while Amanda Anisimova could be a player slightly overlooked in the betting after reaching the last eight in 2022. However, we have had Ons Jabeur in mind for this Grand Slam since the start of the season.
I believe that she will win a Grand Slam title at some point, and the chances are that it will come at Wimbledon. She lost in the final 12 months ago, and has reached the last eight in each of the previous two years. Jabeur is the standout choice this year.
