Event Preview
The fourth race of the 2024 Formula 1 season will take place at the Suzuka Circuit, with the Japanese Grand Prix being staged at an earlier point of the campaign. Traditionally, this race has been one of the final races on the calendar, with 13 World Champions having been crowned throughout history.
The field will complete a total of 53 laps in this race to cover the 307.471 km race distance. It is one of the most challenging tracks on the circuit to race at, with 14 challenging corners making up the Suzuka Circuit. Michael Schumacher is the most successful driver in the race with six wins, while McLaren have landed nine victories.

For the first time this season, questions will hang over the Red Bull coming into this race in Japan. Max Verstappen was forced into an early retirement at the Australian Grand Prix, retiring after just three laps. Carlos Sainz was a deserving winner of the race, marking his return to action just two weeks after having appendix surgery. It was an excellent weekend for Ferrari, with Charles Leclerc finishing second.
McLaren were also competitive throughout the weekend, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri finishing fourth and fifth, respectively. However, it was a weekend that Mercedes will be looking to forget about in a hurry, with both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell failing to finish the race. At this point, it doesn’t seem that the Mercedes has the race pace to get competitive with the top three teams on the grid.
Japanese Grand Prix Prediction
It was an excellent weekend in Australia for Ferrari, and that will give them confidence coming into this weekend in Japan. We could see them showing that their victory was no fluke, with Charles Leclerc our pick to land the race win.
