Preview
Texas A&M had no trouble against New Mexico, winning 52-10. It was a good game to start with as a confidence booster for a young team that underperformed last season. Their expectations for this season were tempered a bit, but the Aggies are still hoping their recent stacked recruiting classes will help them climb to the top of the SEC. This week’s matchup against Miami will be a much better test of their ability.

Miami dominated their like-named rival in Ohio in Week 1, winning 38-3. They’ll face much tougher competition in Week 2, with Texas A&M coming into town. The Hurricanes have a rebuilt roster this season, which could give them a chance at winning 10 games for the first time since 2017. With the ACC wide open after Clemson’s loss, Miami would be able to stake a claim as a contender with a solid win over the Aggies.
Prediction
This should be one of the weekend’s most interesting games, as the SEC and ACC get set to clash. Texas A&M is the favorite here despite the travel, after opening the season ranked. It’s hard to peg down the Aggies still, after they went 6-7 last year despite opening in the top-10. I believe the Aggies have taken a step forward, but not a big enough one to blow out Miami. I see Texas A&M winning a competitive game.
