Preview
Kansas State improved to 2-0 on Saturday. They blew by a capable Troy team, continuing to look well deserving of their top-15 ranking. The Wildcats boast one of the Big-12’s best defenses, which was instrumental in their winning of the conference last season. Meanwhile, the offense was efficient but not exceptional against the Trojans. They’ll face a tougher test against an SEC defense in Missouri this week.

Missouri had a scare in Week 2, nearly being upset by Middle Tennessee. They entered the game as 21-point favorites, but walked away with just a 4-point win. Regardless, they still improved to 2-0 on the year, and will have an opportunity to bounce back against Kansas State this week. QB Brady Cook was efficient last week, completing 14 of 19 passes for 204 yards and 2 TDs. He’ll benefit if the run game improves too.
Prediction
Missouri has the home-field advantage in this game, which gives them an opportunity to pull off the upset. That being said, their performance against the Blue Raiders last week was less than encouraging. On the other hand, Kansas State has continued to impress. I wouldn’t be surprised if this game starts out slow in terms of scoring, but I ultimately see the Wildcats pulling away and winning this one by a couple of TDs.
