Preview
Penn State continued to look impressive in their dominant win over Delaware. They start out Big-10 play this week with a road trip to Illinois. The Nittany Lions managed to exceed expectations in their first two games, so a dominant win over the Fighting Illini would further their claim to the Big-10 that they are a title contender this season. QB Drew Allar was extremely precise in the victory, going 22 of 26 for 204 yards.

Illinois lost to Kansas last week, 34-23, on the road. It was perhaps the expected result after they barely survived against Toledo in Week 1, but the Fighting Illini still underwhelmed. They entered the 4th quarter down 34-15, despite being just 3-point underdogs. QB Luke Altmyer struggled, going 19 of 28 for 202 yards, 1 TD, and 2 INTs. Additionally, their defense had a lot of trouble stopping the running game again.
Prediction
After allowing 416 yards of total offense to Toledo, and 539 yards of offense to Kansas, Illinois may very well allow Penn State to rack up over 600 yards in this game. Their defense has been a major concern, and the offense has not looked a whole lot better. Illinois is at home for this game, but I would be surprised if they hang around with Penn State. This spread is far too small. Take the Nittany Lions to win and cover.
