How to Watch

Preview
Colorado had a close call last week, playing Colorado State closer than expected. It may have been the rivalry game that caused it, but many have re-evaluated Colorado after that win. They’ve far exceeded expectations, but were still a 1-win team last season. This game against Oregon is the test they need. If they compete, the Buffaloes are definitely legit. If they lose badly, expectations may need to be adjusted.

Oregon continued to surge past the opposition in non-conference play, having little trouble against Hawaii. They did play a much closer game in Week 2 against Texas Tech, so the Ducks have yet to prove if they can dominate other top competition. This game against Colorado will give them a chance to test their skill. QB Bo Nix has been having an excellent season thus far, and will be crucial for the Ducks in this matchup.
Prediction
This game will provide a lot of clarity for both of these teams. Colorado dominated Nebraska, but played TCU and Colorado State close. Oregon had no trouble against Portland State and Hawaii, but nearly lost to Texas Tech. In games like these, I usually lean towards last season’s results to give clarity. Colorado is a different team now, while Oregon should be equally as successful. I’ll take the Ducks to win but not cover.
