Premier League Outright Odds: Man City Favorites to Win 2023-24 Season

By · 163 days ago
  • Manchester City clear favorites.
  • Arsenal and Liverpool favored ahead of Manchester United.

The Premier League outright odds for the upcoming 2023-24 season predictably see Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City as the overwhelming favorites to lift their eighth league title.

Man City will be looking to claim a fourth straight Premier League title, which is a feat not managed by any previous side in this current era. However, renewed challenges from Arsenal, Liverpool, and Man United are likely in a potential open 2023-24 title race.

Manchester City Rightful Favorites

You’d be hard-pressed to take on Man City to claim a fourth straight Premier League title in 2023-24. The recently crowned treble winners finished clear of Arsenal last term, and looked to be getting stronger as the season progressed. Erling Haaland broke the Premier League scoring record in his debut campaign in the English top-flight, and could improve further this coming season.

However, there are lingering questions that Guardiola will look to address this summer, as a number of his treble winners could be nearing the exit door. Among those include full-back Kyle Walker, and midfield duo Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva. However, the City boss will likely be given funds to address the areas, with Chelsea’s Matteo Kovacic already being linked with a move to the Etihad. As the reigning three-time Premier League champions, City are the side to beat.

Good Value Outsiders

Arsenal enjoyed a memorable campaign in 2022-23, but Mikel Arteta’s side eventually came up short after a run of three straight draws against Liverpool, West Ham, and Southampton. There will be the added pressure of competing in the Champions League in 2023-24, meaning that they will be fighting on two fronts and greater strength in depth will be needed.

Man United looked back on track under Erik ten Hag last term, and a first piece of silverware was picked up under the Dutchman following EFL Cup success. However, lingering ownership issues are threatening to de-rail United’s summer plans, and that is something that must be sorted out to give the Red Devils the best chance of improving.

Liverpool appear to be the value angle in the betting in 2023-24, as they so often fall short in the following season after big exertions in the previous campaign. The Reds were within two wins of a treble in 2021-22, before falling short against Man City and Real Madrid in the Premier League and Champions League, respectively. Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that his side can start quickly in 2023-24, and we see them as a very serious contender for the top prize.

2023-24 Premier League Winner Prediction

Man City look much stronger than any other side in the Premier League, and therefore, we struggle to overlook Guardiola’s side making history and becoming the first team to win four straight titles.

Without Manchester City

Given City’s dominance, there may be better value in the ‘betting without City’ market. We expect a renewed challenge from Liverpool this coming campaign, and we could see Jurgen Klopp’s side finishing second in the overall standings at the conclusion of the 2023-24 campaign.
